This website contains a family tree with over 3100 names. The are are at least four separate roots of the family tree, the Kerfoots, the Shillingtons, the Mains and the Brownlees. We know that three of the families, the Brownlees, the Shillingtons and the Kerfoots immigrated from Ireland to Upper Canada (Ontario) in 1817.To these families a number of others have been joined. On their arrival they tackled the backbreaking work of carving farms out of the northern forests in Upper Canada. Eight generations later they can be found in every occupation. There are farmers; there are cleryman; there are politicians; there are warriors-a number are buried in European battlefields. Some have had incredibly good luck; other lives are a tale of tragedy. They live in all 10 Canadian provinces and many U.S. states. The Table of Contents leads to more information on the fascinating people who make up this family tree.
