Notes for WILLIAM C MAINS:
He attended scholl at S.S> #%, Arbourdale, Ontaio, Canada.  The voters list in 1890 shows him to be living on  South one-hald of Lot 31, Concession 4, North Gower, Township, Ontario, Canada. He worked for the CPR in Fort Francis. It is believed he subsequently  moved to Saskatchewan and is buried there.

51.  JOHN HENRY2 MAINS (WILLIAM JOHN1) was born 15 June 1862, and died 1944 in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, Canada.  He married MARGARET LYDIA MCFARLANE HILL 3 February 1886 in Munster, Ontario, Canada, daughter of ROBERT HILL and ESTER BROWNLEE.  She was born 5 June 1863 in Munster, Ontario, Canada, and died 1939 in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Notes for JOHN HENRY MAINS:
He was baptised as a Methodist in North Gower, Ontario, Canada and attended school there at S.S. #5, Arbourdale, Ontario, Canada. He lived at Munster, Ontario, Canada for a few years where he carried on the business of a blacksmith. Later he farmed at North Gower, Ontario and in Kemptville District until 1897 when the family moved Western Canada where he was a blacksmith for the C.P.R. as it went through the Crows Nest Past. From 1903 to 1907  he ranched in Alberta at Whiskey Gap, Milk RIver Ridge. In 1907 he moved to Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, Canada where he  farmed.

They were married in 1884 in North Gower United Church, Ontario, Canada. HUGH WALLACE was born 19 March 1836 in North Gower Township, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada, and died 5 March 1920.

She was baptised as a Methodist. She attended S.S. Arbourdale, North Gower Township. She was Hugh Wallace's second wife.  Margaret raised the children of Hugh Wallace's first marriage. She is buried in Kars Elmview Cemetry, Ontario, Canada

Notes for HUGH WALLACE:
He owned the land located at South Half of Lot  19, Concession 3, North Gower Township, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada. It was located north on Highway 16, on the east or righthand side. It had a long lane and a white house. MARGARET MAINS was his second wife. His first wife was AGNES THMPSON, born October 3, 1839. She died on June 13, 1879. All three, HUGH WALLACE, AGNES THOMPSON and MARGARET MAINS are buried in the same plot, under the same gravestone. See the link below to the picture of Hugh Wallace's gravestone.

He attended S.S. #5, Arbourdale, North Gower Township, Ontario, Candaa
They lived in Alberta and thereafter in New Westminster, B.C., Canada where Alex worked in a saw mill. He owned four acres of land on which was built the first store in a settlement that became Walley, B.C. He was killed by a car while crossing the street a few years prior to 1952. His mother, Ann Jane Shillington spent some years with them.

Notes for DEBORAH SHILLINGTON:
She was married at a double wedding with her sister Barbara at her parents' home in Neapen Township. After their marriage, they lived on  Nelson's farm until 1870 when they moved to Russell, Ontario and operated a sawmill until it burned some years later. Then they went to Manitoba and settled on a farm near Chater. Their last child A. George was born there in 1885.  They retired to Brandon where they lived until their deaths.

Notes for ALEXANDER NELSON:
Alexander's Nelson's brother, William Nelson, married Deborah Shillington. They lived on Nelson's farm in Neapen Township for some years. Then they moved to Russell, Ontario where  Eliza's sister, Deborah, and her husband had gone a few years earlier. They remained there until Eliza's death at 33 years of age. Two years later Alexander moved back to City View with the child ren and they all attended public school there. Alexander died in Carberry Manitoba and is buried there.
