voters list in 1890 shows him to be living on South one-hald of
Lot 31, Concession 4, North Gower, Township, Ontario, Canada. He worked
for the CPR in Fort Francis. It is believed he subsequently moved
to
Saskatchewan and is buried there.

of a blacksmith. Later he farmed at North Gower, Ontario and in
Kemptville
District until 1897 when the family moved Western Canada where he was a
blacksmith for the C.P.R. as it went through the Crows Nest Past. From
1903
to 1907 he ranched in Alberta at Whiskey Gap, Milk RIver Ridge.
In
1907 he moved to Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, Canada where he
farmed.

was AGNES THMPSON, born October 3, 1839. She died on June 13, 1879. All

She was married at a double wedding with her sister Barbara at her
parents' home in Neapen Township. After their marriage, they lived

Nelson's farm until 1870 when they moved to Russell, Ontario and
operated
a sawmill until it burned some years later. Then they went to Manitoba
and settled on a farm near Chater. Their last child A. George was born
there in 1885. They retired to Brandon where they lived until
their
deaths.

Alexander's Nelson's brother, William Nelson, married Deborah
Shillington. They lived on Nelson's farm in Neapen Township for some
years. Then they moved to Russell, Ontario where Eliza's sister,
Deborah, and her
husband had gone a few years earlier. They remained there until Eliza's
death at 33 years of age. Two years later Alexander moved back to City
View
with the child ren and they all attended public school there. Alexander
died in Carberry Manitoba and is buried there.
