After working for The Bank of Toronto at Meyronne, Sask. I
was transferred by the bank to Minitonas, Manitoba and then to Swan
River MB. Doreen and I were married on June 3/57 and both worked
for the bank at Clandonald, Alberta and the at various branches in
Edmonton where our two sons, Richard and Robert, were born. I
left the bank in 1963 and we moved back to Swan River where I was
employed by The Star &Times weekly newspaper for 12 years. I then
joined Canada Post as a postal clerk in 1975 and worked there for 21
years until my retirement in 1996. In Jan/03, I was awarded the
Queen's Commemorative medal for 40 years service to The Canadian Red
Cross.

As a young boy he returned to Ontario with his parents and grew up in
their home in Grimsby. After graduating from High School he entered the
Second World War and served four years as Radar Technical Sargeant in
the R.A.F. This service took him to the British Isles, Africa (from the
Sierra Leone, to the Cape to Madagascar), India (Bombay to Calcutta and
from Cocanada in the south to Dargeeling in the Himalayas), Egypt and
Saudi Arabia. Most of his combat time was spent on the Burma War Front
whose Supreme Commander was Lord Louis Mountbatten. He returned with
five combat ribbons to Grimsby. As of 1953 he was employed as an
