His athletic record is almost a career in itself. He held several medals
for jumping, running and weight-throwing. He also played rugby for 15-20
years. He play on a McGill team that won the Intercollegiate Championship.

in 1918. He played for the Calgary Stampeders before the First World War
and was Vice-President of the Club when the war broke out. He rowed in the
Ottawa rowing club. He also played lacrosse and hockey. It is a remarkable
athletic record for someone who was forced to take a six year leave of absence
from medical studies due to a heart condition.

in the Order took place in Ottawa on December 1, 1952.
